A Lifetime in Jet Sprint

Ron O’Day (aka Agrovation Racing) has been around Jet Sprint Boats longer than JRE itself. As one of the original members of the Australian Jet Sprint Association, Ron is a highly respected figure in the sport and someone who has been a consistent presence for decades. When the opportunity came to work with him directly, we were excited to be part of the next chapter in his racing journey.

The Project

In early 2024, Ron ordered a new hull through Pulse Race Boats, looking to step up from his previous setup. After a series of conversations with us at JRE, Ron chose to bring his existing LS engine for dyno verification and a full MoTeC ECU package setup.

The engine arrived in May, and by August the complete package was finished. A brand new hull, tailored installation, dyno tuned and tested, built around his existing powerplant.

Testing & Results

Shakedown testing at Lake Eppalock went fault-free, with Ron, Pulse Race Boats, and JRE on site for setup and support. After years of chasing gremlins in his previous combination, this was a turning point. The boat ran smoothly from day one and raced the following month without a hitch.

Since then, Ron has continued to compete in the current Australian V8 Superboats season, returning to JRE for standard checkovers to keep everything on point. For the 2025/26 season, Ron has also taken up full season trackside support with JRE, and we are currently building him a brand new JRE-spec LS engine which we can’t wait to see in LS class competition.

The Team Behind the Wheel

Agrovation Racing is a family effort. Ron drives, his son Tyler runs as the B-driver, and his other son Liam handles transport and race day setup. Seeing a multi-generational crew working together in the sport highlights what Jet Sprint racing is all about.

Working with Ron has been a pleasure. He’s a driver who not only backs the package but has contributed enormously to the sport and community over the years. We’re proud to support Agrovation Racing and look forward to seeing what the future holds for Ron, Tyler, Liam, and the team.
