Client Spotlight: Chris Edmonds | From Hazardous to UPPA to Pure Insanity

The Beginning

Chris Edmonds’ Unlimited class journey with JRE started back in 2022, when he purchased ex-Aussie Champion Slade Stanley’s Stinger hull Hazardous. The boat was powered by a JRE 483ci mechanical injected SBC, and the goal was simple. Help fellow racer Darryl Hutton stay in the championship after a major crash.

That first project sparked a working relationship that quickly grew into something bigger. Chris backed our vision for the first ever Pulse JRE Unlimited package, giving us the freedom to push the platform to a whole new level.

The Birth of UPPA

After 18 months of research and development, UPPA was completed in October 2024. Following a single lake test, the boat was shipped to New Zealand for the NZ Jetsprint season, lining up ahead of the 2025 UIM Powerboating World Series.

UPPA proved itself immediately finishing equal 2nd in New Zealand and running as a genuine top six contender at both World Series rounds. Chris drove it hard every time, right on the edge, and finished 8th overall out of 20 in one of the most competitive Unlimited fields in recent years.

A New Chapter: Pure Insanity

With UPPA prepped to return to Australia, plans suddenly changed. Chris received a call from US racer Ryan Rogers, who needed a proven Unlimited package for the US Sprint Boat Series while his own project was delayed.

UPPA was shipped across the world, rebranded as Pure Insanity, and is now being driven by River Rogers in the ASB Racing and Webb’s Slough series already claiming two wins on US soil.

The Impact

Chris has been a huge ambassador for both JRE Racing Solutions and Pulse Race Boats, showcasing what’s possible when innovation meets trust. His journey from Hazardous to UPPA to Pure Insanity highlights the global reach and race winning capability of a Pulse JRE Unlimited package.

What began as a client relationship has grown into a true JRE friendship, and we’re proud to stand alongside Chris as he continues to push the limits of the sport.
